This little wall hanging had a bad beginning. Kathy had it quilted by someone in Illinois. She didn't like how it turned out - so she unpicked the whole thing. She then decided that she would quilt it herself on her domestic machine. After a couple of blocks she threw in the towel. I must admit that I was a little challenged with this one. I knew what I wanted to do, but it was so far out of my comfort zone. So, I unpicked what Kathy started, gave it a toss in the washing machine to remove the stitch marks. Ironed it with a little starch and bravely loaded it on my quilter. I started stitching what I felt comfortable with. That was outline all the boxes and put piano keys on the border. Then came out the mono-filiment thread that I had never worked with before. Oh my gosh - I had a ball! I outlined all the little people and animals. I can hardly wait for her to see it.
